2016After opening the curtains on Valentine’s day, I was very surprised to see the white world outside. It finally became winter.
In this blog the results of a early morning on the Posbank with a cloudy sky and a morning with a clear sky on the Rozendaalse veld, just a little bit further than the Posbank.
I hope you enjoy my first snow pictures of this year.

2016On the 17th of Januari, I went together with some fellow photographers of the ‘Schoorl group’ to the little town of Durgerdam.
The town is situated just east of Amsterdam on the shore of the IJsselmeer, what used to be the Zuiderzee. Looking to the east, we witnessed a beautiful sunrise over the water.
Thanks Petra van Went, Ed Geerlings, Niels Barto and Frederik van der Veer for an inspiring morning.

2015The most colourful season is getting to its end. Time to wrap-up some of my results and post it in my blog.
What a great autumn it was. We were treated to great weather, hence the beautiful colours were even more bright. Obviously the nights were getting colder resulting in some morning fog, the best ingredients for a landscape photographer.

2015To make some pictures of the purple heather in combination with the rising sun, I went to the Posbank this morning. No morning fog where I was hoping for, but still a beautiful morning. Although not visible, I was not the only one there this morning. From all over the country photographers came to witness this sunrise. The runner in the sixth picture asked me where the bus was parked.
Addition: ‘Clouds over the Posbank’ taken on the 24th of August
Addition: ‘After the purple rush’ taken on the 2nd of September
Addition: ‘The last morning’ taken on the 4th of September

2015My son Marijn and myself went walking along the river Semois in the Ardennes. We had plans to explore the river by canoe but unfortunately the river was closed due low water. So we explored the area by foot and had a brilliant time. There were some hot days (>35 deg C), we couldn’t stop drinking water during the day (and Belgium beers at night). Obviously we got lost a couple of times ending up in breathtaking sceneries along the river, but we were anything but lost soles.
It was great time and it was brilliant to see that Marijn really got into photography as well. The apple doesn’t fall …………………….
We stayed in the little town of Laforêt where Theo and Hanneke looked after us very well in their B&B Le Lognard.
We ended our trip with a tour through the caves in Han.
Here some pictures of our adventures.

2015On one of the hottest days of the year, the only time to get out is the early morning. To witness the sunrise, the alarm was set for 04.00 in the morning. Together with Marion Keijzer, Sander Grefte and Wim Smallegange, I went to the Loowaard, an area next to the river Rhine where you can find wild horses. A beautiful area with fields and forests. Also a great opportunity to test my new Tamron AF SP 24-70 f/2.8 Di VC USD lens. The wide-angle pictures were made with the Tokina 11-18 lens, the rest with the Tamron and I’m very happy with the results.
Hope you enjoy the pictures.

2015Together with Sander Grefte and his colleague Julien, I went to the dunes of Kootwijkerzand hoping for a spectacular sunset followed by some fantastic star gazing. Unfortunately neither happened. During sunset the clouds came in covering our own big star and later all the other stars.
I managed to shoot a short series of the sunset with the exposed roots of some trees caused by the moving dunes.

2015For a business meeting I was in the province of Zeeland in the south west of the Netherlands. Before and after the meeting I went to the coast near Nieuwvliet to take some shots. It was low tide, hopefully next time it will be high tide to take some long exposure shots. I know definitely that it won’t be the last time that i will be at that coast line.
